What We're Doing in 2010:
In 2010, the local Planned Parenthood “political arms” of the five Planned Parenthood affiliates joined together as part of Planned Parenthood Pennsylvania Advocates (PPPA). This transition has made us a stronger, smarter and more strategic statewide entity!
Our new structure helps us streamline the numerous programs we are implementing in this crucial election year, like:
- The Campaign Organizer Internship program: 10 full-time interns will work for both Planned Parenthood AND a pro-choice state level candidate. These dynamic young women and men will help elect pro-choice candidates while becoming the next generation of reproductive rights activists! Financial needs include supporting a three day training, travel, housing, and meal costs for the duration of the program.
Why give to PPPA?
As the only pro-choice advocacy organization in Pennsylvania, we are THE trusted messengers on women’s health and public policy in the Commonwealth. Help us implement these targeted programs and our entire 2010 electoral program by giving TODAY! The first $10 of any gift to PPPA will go to a one-year membership to our organization! You can donate to our programs by check, or online.
What will your gift support?
Here are just a few examples of how YOUR financial contribution will be put to use:
- $35: supplies for one volunteer training session
- $50: 10 face to face conversations with voters
- $75: one van rental to transport volunteers to a door-to-door canvass
- $100: 320 phone calls to elect pro-choice candidates
- $150: design and production hours for Planned Parenthood voter’s guide
- $250: 166 voters guides to Planned Parenthood supporters
- $500: 218 mail pieces endorsing pro-choice candidates
