Planned Parenthood Pennsylvania Votes Statement on results of SCOTUS floor vote

Statement by Sari Stevens, Executive Director, Planned Parenthood PA Votes:
“Today, the US Senate has sent a message to American women and victims of sexual assault: your voice does not matter. Shame on Senator Toomey for voting for Brett Kavanaugh’s appointment to the US Supreme Court. A judge who has been credibly and repeatedly accused of sexual assault has no place receiving a lifetime appointment and the power to decide reproductive rights for the women of this country.

States will be the last line of defense against the dangerous Trump-Pence agenda, which puts women in the crosshairs. Scott Wagner has shown that he is hostile toward Planned Parenthood and the nearly 90,000 patients it serves in Pennsylvania.

We cannot afford to sit on the sidelines this November. It is time to demand elected leaders hear us and that starts at the ballot box. Now more than ever, we need to elect reproductive health champions to all levels of government and that starts with re-electing Governor Tom Wolf.”
